The VW Fox is decent to drive and offers good performance. Its low pricing also makes it attractive. Desirable badge works in its favour, too

Fox

It may be the smallest Volkswagen available but the Volkswagen Fox comes with big personality and style to match. It's an intriguing little number which is small engough to nip around the city yet spacious enough for four adults to enjoy a comfortable ride. The biggest suprise however, is the price - it's smaller than you think. With a variety of optional accessories available including a selection of accessory packs, a wide range of exterior body colours to choose from and impressive level of specification, the versatility of the Fox and Urban Fox allow you to customise to your heart’s content, creating the perfect vehicle for you. Available in two models, the Fox and the Urban Fox, the Fox is a practical, affordable, high specification small car, while the Urban Fox has a range of additional touches for extra luxury and storage space.

As you’d expect from a small car, the engine size has also been kept small, the Fox range has just two sizes to choose from – the 1.2 litre and the 1.4 litre petrol engine. Both deliver excellent fuel consumption and a dynamic performance. Ideal for driving around town, the 1.2 litre develops 55PS achieving 37.3mpg, while, perfect for more open roads, the 1.4 litre 16-valve engine, generates an impressive 75 PS, managing 50.4 mpg – creating a cheap to run, but still respectably powerful, vehicle.

And not only is the Fox economic with petrol, but it won’t cost the earth to insure, with a Group 1 rating for the 1.2 litre engine and a Group 2 for the 1.4 litre. Prices in the range start from £6,945 on the road.
