New Polo Launch - Ready, Steady, Cook
Stourbridge Volkswagen served up a sizzling night of culinary delights to mark the launch of its new Polo, as a novice cook took on a celebrity chef and won.
The ready steady cook evening saw Stourbridge customer, Jane White, compete against award winning celebrity chef, Nigel Smith, to claim the 'Polo Culinary Winner' title.
Over 100 guests attended the entertaining evening in Audnam, which began with t he unveiling of the tasty and stylish new Polo. Jane carefully prepared ginger cous cous crsted salmon fillet with coriander noodles and chilli pak choi followed by blueberry mousse. Whereas Nigel delighted the audience with his culinary cooking tips while whisking up a lamb fillet with fondant potato and butternut squash risotto followed by baked apple and caramel sauce.
Guests were able to closely inspect the Polo for the first time while enjoying venison with chocolate and blackcurrant sauce, savoy cabbage and fondant potato with beetroot puree, followed by passion fruit brule, all prepared by Nigel and his team.
Andrew Hockedy, managing director of Trust Group UK said: "It was certainly a heated competition and the aromas smelt delicious. The green polo voting cards slightly beat the red ones."
"We are all very excited about the arrival of the new shape Polo and really wanted to cook up a treat to mark its arrival. Our version of a ready steady cook has certainly made an impression and whetted the appetite of our customers."
The new Polo has a stylish new look and is the most technically advanced version in its 34 year history, but it remains true to the brand's core values of safety, reliability, quality and value for money.
Despite the increase in size, the Polo is lighter than the model it replaces leading to improved fuel economy and emissions.
