Mental health is one of the biggest and fastest-growing health issues. On world health day it is worth remembering that Mental health illness affects 16 million people in the UK with one in four adults experiencing a mental illness each year.
Since the 1970s, Mental Health UK has been building partnerships and working with various other organisations and partners to help support those who suffer from mental health issues and support carers. One of the biggest partners is Lloyds Banking group which has been pioneering mental health and money advice services throughout the UK.
Lloyds staff have also been active in raising money for the charity too with Vicky Atkinson (Banking Manager at Lloyds Banking group) and colleagues aiming to raise £4,000 by trekking 51 miles across Cambodia.
To help Vicky and colleagues with their challenge, ŠKODA UK has donated two VIP hospitality tickets for the OVO Energy Tour of Britain final in Manchester which will be auctioned off as part of the fundraising.
Vicky and colleagues will be undertaking the trek through the jungles, paddy fields and the Kulen Mountain in October. If you want to help with fundraising for Mental Health UK you can donate to Vicky’s Go fund me page at www.justgiving.com/vatkinson.
You can also find support, advice and donate to Mental Health UK by visiting their website:
We wish Vicky and her colleagues the best of luck on the fundraising and their trek across Cambodia.
