Earlier in the year, we were introduced to several new hybrids and all-electric Škoda’s that included the Škoda Superb iV and the CITIGOe iV. Now after several months of teasers we finally get to see a brand new all-electric Škoda SUV, the Enyaq iV.
The new Enyaq iV has enhanced Škoda design features with a new grille that has a crystalline effect and delivers a unique light signature thanks to the 130 LEDs that provide a backlight to the grille.
The Enyaq features a long wheelbase with a short bonnet giving the SUV a more stylish muscular feel to its design and does a great job of reducing the drag coefficient.
For those wondering about the power output, the Enyaq offers you 5 power outputs, three battery sizes, and two different drivetrains. The baseline Enyaq iV 50 comes with a 109 kW electric and rear-wheel drive with a battery that can deliver 211 miles (WLTP cycle) on a single charge.
If you are looking for something with a much bigger traveling distance, then the Enyaq iV 80 would be the perfect match. This version features a 150 kW electric and a torque of 310 Nm. The 82 kWh which can deliver up to 310 miles (in the WLTP cycle) on just one charge and features all-wheel drive.
The Enyaq iV will also be getting a sporty RS version that will feature a second electric motor on the front axle for additional driving performance and output 225 kW. This will allow the Enyaq iV RS to give you that extra boost and control while still achieving a driving distance of 285 miles on a single charge in the current WLTP cycle.
While the technology under the hood is impressive, the interior has also benefitted from the technological revolution. Customers can choose from 10 themed interior packages with individual choices available such as the loft or the lounge designs. A new 5.3-inch display virtual cockpit with a new innovative heads-up display.
A range of driver safety assistance and entertainment services really make the virtual cockpit come to life. For the driver, they will benefit from the inclusion of a new large augmented reality projection zone that can display navigation instructions etc in clear view for the driver.
The Enyaq iV is also ‘always online' and drivers can utilise the new infotainment system via the 13-inch central screen or utilise Škoda’s digital voice assistant, Laura to control the system (Laura can process and understand 15 languages and is able to fluently speak sentences in six of them).
A range of traditional Skoda simply clever features are included within the Enyaq iV including a cleaner for the charging cable and space to store it under the boot floor. The in-door umbrella holder makes and for those looking for the ice scrape usually by the fuel tank, can now find it securely stored within the tailgate.
