This year, like no other, has created super heroes out of a situation that none of us wanted to be part of, and Birmingham TPS is no exception.
TPS, the first trade parts operation to be owned and run by an automotive manufacturer – Volkswagen Group UK Limited, have been running their own incentive programme during 2020, across all of the UK’s 80 TPS Centres, to find the most committed and successful staff members.
All roles from the apprentice through to the Centre Manager can be nominated for an award.
Trust Group UK are very pleased to announce that Paul Holmes, Birmingham TPS’s Van Sales Driver has been recognised by Volkswagen Group UK TPS as the National TPS Superhero for Van Sales Driver of the year.
Paul was nominated by his Centre Manager Raj Momi and Paul’s nomination reads: Paul has been, and continues to be, outstanding in his role. During the difficult times we have experienced under lock down, Paul insisted he wanted to work through, and made this very clear to the business that he did NOT want to be furloughed at any stage.
To ensure we continued to meet customer expectations under lock down and reduce staff at the Centre, Paul arrived into work at 6.00am instead of his normal time of 7.30am, to support the business by taking an additional 25/30 deliveries a-day.
He was on the road at 7.30am and sometimes did not return to the Centre until after 5.00pm; this was without any additional renumeration.
Paul is an employee which every TPS business wants and we are proud that he is part of Birmingham TPS. Paul is a truly genuine and trustworthy member staff. Thankyou Paul.
To win the National TPS Van Sales Driver award, Paul was at first judged against the other Van Sales Drivers in his region. Winning the Regional Award meant Paul was automatically entered into the National competition, he really was up against the “best of the best”, but Paul sailed through this test to become the National Super Hero. True recognition of his outstanding contribution to 2020.
