Earlier this year, we saw the official premiere of the ID.3, the first in the new all-electric Volkswagen ID range. This is in addition to the other ID models that have been unveiled like the ID Crozz, Buzz, Vizzion, Buggy and Roomz.  While the other models in the ID range have been unveiled and toured around various motor show events, a new addition to the ID range was premiered at the recent Los Angeles Motor Show.

The latest addition to the ID range has been unveiled as the ID Space Vizzion. The new model has been designed using a combination of SUV proportions and the aerodynamics of a Gran Turismo. The new Space Vizzion will be built upon the latest version of the Volkswagen Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB). The new model will feature 82kWh battery capacity that when combined with the technical possibilities of e-mobility and dynamic driving performance, can deliver a driving range of up to 300 miles and can achieve 0-60mph acceleration in 5.0 seconds.

Volkswagen is filling the new ID Space Vizzion full of technology to ensure that it delivers on zero-emission with maximum flexibility. Even the interior is ecologically minded with the use of sustainable materials such as Volkswagens new AppleSkin leather. The new AppleSkin material is an artificial leather that has been created using a proportion of the residual matter from the production of apple juice.

The exterior has been designed with smart and intelligent features such as the new animated exterior LED lights and an aerodynamic roof design to allow for better airflow that reduces the drag coefficient to just 0.24.

Inside the cockpit, the ID Space Vizzion will be able to communicate with the driver using the smart ID. Light system and will also have an Augmented Reality heads up display. The steering wheel will feature capacitive touch panels and a 15.6-inch touch screen designed to make driving a smoother interactive experience.

The new Smart Climate control system that is featured as standard in the new Golf will also be included in the ID Space Vizzion. Drivers will be able to use either the touch panel screen or voice control to request climate features such as fresh air, warm feet, demist the windscreen, quick heating and a whole range of other commands.

The ID Space Vizzion was initially a case study for the future but this is a case study with a difference in that the ID Space Vizzion will actually enter production. There will be several different versions that will be of the ID Space Vizzion released to better meet the differences in the region. The ID Space Vizzion will be released into North America, China and the European market in late 2021.

We will have more information in regards to costs, release dates, and pre-order details in the coming year ahead, but for now, we are super excited to see more of the ID. Space Vizzion!
