The Volkswagen Up can now be proclaimed an award winner after picking up the “Wertmister 2019” award (value champion) in the city car category.

The prestigious awards and honours are conducted by German car magazine, Auto Bild.

The Value Champion award is based on the residual value of a vehicle after four years as a percentage of the price of a new car. Within the city car category, annual mileage of 11,000km also plays a role including which car takes home the award. The Up! TSI variant beat out rivals in a competitive category to take home the award with a residual value of 57%.

Holger B. Santel (second from left), Head of Volkswagen Sales and Marketing Germany, received the „Wertmeister“award from Dennis Petermann (left), Head of autobild.tv, Thorsten Barg, Managing Director Schwacke, and moderator Eve Scheer.

The Up winning a “Wermister” award continues a tradition of award-winning vehicles by Volkswagen. Last year the Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI took home an award in the large SUV category.
