This year, the Launch of the ID.4 has started a successful campaign of awards and accolades for Volkswagen including the ID.4 picking up World Car of the Year. That momentum has continued this month with the Volkswagen range picking up more awards.
The Auto Express New Car Awards awarded the Volkswagen ID.3 with the accolade of ‘Best Small Company Car’. Fleet news recognised the new Volkswagen Golf as the ‘Best Lower Medium Car’ at the Fleet News 2021 awards.
Since the launch of the Volkswagen ID.3, the all-electric vehicle has picked up 11 awards since it premier and has shown not only how electric vehicles are competing in the market, regardless of whether it’s against an EV or fossil-fuelled vehicle, but also how they can appeal to the public and critics as more and more vehicles switch to all-electric.
The ID.3 certainly is turning into a modern icon and the Golf is still building upon its already iconic appeal. Another iconic Volkswagen, the Passat also received recognition receiving the ‘Highly Commended title ‘. Recent World Car of the Year, ID.4 also received a ‘Highly Commended’ title within the ‘Zero Emission Car’ group added to an already impressive set of accolades since it launched earlier this year.
Volkswagen has also picked up some more prestigious awards on top of these from the Auto Trader New Car Awards. The 2021 awards were voted for by over 148,000 UK car buyers which truly reflects genuine consumer feedback.
The Volkswagen Touareg received a lot of highly commendable praise as it took home the title of ‘Best Car for Towing’; impressive given the highly competitive field of SUVs with towing capabilities. Voters highlighted that they were impressed with the Touareg’s safety features combined with comfort and practicality making the 3.0 V6 TDI version a joy to drive. The design aspects of the Touareg were also recognised for its desirable characteristics, design, opulence, and its commanding driving positions; all of which resonated with voters’ decisions when casting their vote for the award winner.
The Volkswagen Golf GTI has also been busy picking up awards as it took home the ‘Readers Champion Award’ for the second time in the Autocar Readers Awards. It was recognised as Autocar Readers’ Daily Driver of Choice’. Readers gave the award to the GTI because of its all-rounder approach which is perfect for their daily driver car. The iconic hatchback was highlighted because of its ability to provide performance and prestige befitting of an iconic vehicle while still being able to tackle the demands of everyday life including transporting families around the country.
The awards and accolades for the Volkswagen range continue to grow and what makes some of these awards most impressive is that they have been voted upon and awarded by consumers.
